She was dropped from three record labels and her first album only sold 200 copies.

She lived in extreme poverty, was sexually abused from the age of 9, and fired from her first job for being “unfit for television.”

He grew up in Brooklyn’s drug-infested projects, was abandoned by his father at the age of 11, and turned down by every major record label.

Stephen King:
His first novel was rejected 30 separate times and it was thrown into the trash before it was later retrieved by his wife.

Michael Jordan once said: “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Fear of Success: Who is the person placing you in front of friends, family members, or loved ones who constantly remind you that you can’t do something? Who is making the list of excuses of why you didn’t get something done, telling yourself mediocre is good enough? The short answer is YOU! Yes, you’re the blame for all the self sabotage and the sooner you acknowledge this fact, the sooner you can get onto the path of success.

As an entrepreneur, ask yourself the following questions, then come up with answers to discover the specific reasons that may be causing your fear of success:

Why am I standing in my own way?

What do I need to let go of?

What words have others said that still fill my mind?

What does success look like to me?

What happens when I am successful?

Fear of Rejection: Ever hear the term ‘self-fulfilling prophecy’?

A self-fulfilling prophecy is a false idea about a situation that makes the person with the belief act in such a way that the false idea comes true.

Most people probably wouldn’t fear failure if they believed no one was going to judge them. Interestingly, the shame many of us feel when we fail stems from an illusion which is self imposed. Much of the time we imagine how other people might judge us and we have this imaginary delusion that we have haters that we must impress and these so call haters should never see our failures. In most cases, these people don’t even care about our successes and failures as we do personally. So why do we bother to worry about them or what they think?

Look to yourself. How do your beliefs and views of possible rejection influence your behavior? How does your behavior influence your actions? You can’t start to change your actions until you really see what is going on. Start looking for signs of what is working rather than just signs of what’s going wrong.
