Michigan Police have apprehended a 45-year-old gunman who killed at least seven victims to include a 14-year old girl in random shootings around 6 p.m. Saturday. The shootings took place in the parking lots of a restaurant, car dealership and apartment complex.
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A 45-year-old man was arrested early Sunday following a massive manhunt after the shootings began about 6 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
A 14-year-old girl was among five people fatally shot outside a Cracker Barrel restaurant, said Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas, while a father and son were killed at the dealership. A woman who was shot multiple times at an apartment complex was in serious condition early Sunday, Mr. Matyas said, correcting an earlier statement in which he had said nine people had been shot.
Mr. Matyas said earlier that authorities didn’t believe the shootings were targeted at specific people, describing them as “our worst-case scenario.”
