On Saturday night, when Mrs. Beyoncé -Knowles-Carter aired her HBO special Lemonade, the world was entertained with lyrical allusions to Jay Z’s cheating. And world is questioning why just hours after Lemonade premiered, fashion designer Rachel Roy, posted a photo of herself along with the caption, “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. live in the light nodramaqueens.”
Could Rachel Roy be firing back at Beyoncé for the shade thrown in Lemonade? Well, let’s see…
In the series, Beyoncé makes mention of what many now think is an alleged relationship between Jay-Z and Rachel Roy when she drops a clue to the identity of the other woman when she’s joined in the movie by squads of beautiful black women—including a twerking Serena Williams—before dropping a cryptic clue as to the identity of the other woman: “he better call Becky with the good hair.”
“Apathy” was one of the songs that drew the most attention as Beyoncé opens the track with some spoken word:
“So what are you gonna say at my funeral now that you’ve killed me? Here lies the body of the love of my life whose heart I broke without a gun to my head. Here lies the mother of my children both living and dead. Rest in peace my true love, who I took for granted. Most bomb pussy, who because of me sleep evaded. Her shroud is loneliness, her god was listening. Her heaven will be a love without betrayal. Ashes to ashes, dust to side chicks.”
Then, she’s joined by squads of beautiful black women—including a twerking Serena Williams—before dropping a cryptic clue as to the identity of the other woman: “he better call Becky with the good hair.”
