My story is one of transformation and beating the odds. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, aspiring actress, and mentor to women who desire to change their lives. My only hope is to inspire others to chase their dreams and never give up.
Growing up in Gary, Indiana I found myself a ninth grade high school drop out and teenage mother at sixteen–working as a cashier at Burger King. Life seemed to be empty. I was sad. I was lost. I had no hope for the future. However, it all turned around one morning when I woke up and decided I was going to change my life! At that moment, I decided to go back to school and earn my G.E.D.
I had my share of doubters, naysayers and unbelievers. More than I would have ever hoped for ~ but I carried on. I refused to allow the limitations they placed on their lives to affect mine. After earning my G.E.D, I enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College and completed the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program. I was 21 years old.
I continued my education earning an Associates Degree in Nursing and a short time later a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. In 2014, I earned my Masters Degree in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner at Marymount University. My daughter is now a beautiful 22 year old full time college student ~ majoring in Education.
I have dedicated myself to serving and caring for people of all walks of life. As a Nurse Practitioner serving in a low income community, I not only treat patients for physical illnesses, but I also provide leadership, advise, and motivation to encourage women to live their best life. My passion for helping others is evident in each patient interaction.
Whether I am discussing medical treatments or advising women to remove self-limiting beliefs, my message is always consistent–don’t let your current situation define your future!
