Combat Boots to Makeup Brushes helps Transform Lives of Women Veterans
Many women veterans are dealing with the unanticipated after effects of military service such as PTSD. According to the National Center for PTSD at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs: Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can occur after someone goes through a traumatic event like combat, assault, or disaster. Most people have some stress reactions after a trauma. If the reactions don’t go away over time or disrupt your life, you may have PTSD.
Nearly 20 out of every 100 women who served in Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts have been diagnosed with PTSD. Research shows that it is important for women veterans to feel that they have someone to rely on and to assist them in times of need.
Combat Boots to Makeup Brushes (CB2MB) an organization founded by Renee Sallee Doughty is coming to the aid of many veteran women. Combat Boots to Makeup Brushes (CB2MB) is a non-profit organization that is on a mission to help transform the lives of women veterans all over the United States. As CEO of CB2MB, Renee Sallee Doughty has set course to encourage, empower and educate women veterans who suffer with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other disabilities both seen and unseen, to embrace their inner peace and outer beauty. This is achieved through Health & Wellness Seminars, Spiritual Retreats, Coaching, Beauty & Boots Self-Awareness workshops and practical assistance with everyday needs.
Naturally, operating as a non-profit requires fundraising. While PTSD and other issues associated with being a woman veteran can be challenging, it is our desire to bring some joy to these women. With that being said, CB2MB has effectively and seamlessly put the fabulous, the epitome of upscale and most importantly, the FUN in fundraising! Sounds like the place to be, right?
