Tyrese Gibson Celebrates the Success of Black Rose, Tells Fans to Dream Beyond Your Reality

A couple of days ago, the multifaceted artist, Tyrese Gibson induced a bit of nostalgia in all of us when he posted a video on Facebook that took us back nearly 20 years. The video features Tyrese singing “Shame” and it’s a reenactment of the 1994 Coca-Cola commercial showcasing Tyrese’s talents as both singer and actor.

A bus pulls up to a stop to allow a young 16 year old kid wearing headphones to enter onto the bus.  The highlight was Tyrese who was probably around 16 years old at the time, soulfully singing the “Always Coca-Cola” jingle while enjoying a Coca-Cola. (See bottom of page)

The Facebook posted video was a promotional effort on Tyrese’s part for the Black Rose album.  It appears that his different approach to advertising and bold marketing strategy to go back to the roots of where it all started helped to connect with his fan base.

In his post, he wrote, “Sometimes you just gotta take em back to where it ALL STARTED!!!!!! 20 years ago…. I took this ride and it changed my life forever – to God be ALL the Glory…” Tyrese ends the video clip with a powerful heartfelt message to his fans and passengers, “Think big! It’s okay to dream beyond your reality.”

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week. And Tyrese’s Black Rose album, released on July 16, 2015 on his own label, Voltron Recordz is reported by Billboard.com to be in the No.2 spot.  Black Rose will possibly reach the No.1 spot by the time the new Billboard 200 chart arrives on July 18.  Congratulations, Tyrese Gibson!
