D’Angelo Brings the Audience to Tears with Prince’s “Sometimes It Snows in April” – Music guest D’Angelo pays a moving tribute to Prince by covering his classic “Sometimes It Snows in April” with help from Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum’s cover band, Princess, for the Tonight Show audience.

As an artist, D’Angelo has no doubt been hugely influenced by Prince. His 2000 song,“Untitled (How Does It Feel)” was considered a tribute to the “Purple Rain” singer, evoking his early ballads. D’Angelo also sampled the drums from Prince’s “Africa” and covered the B-side “She’s Always in My Hair.”

Watch his touching tribute below.
