Madison Nicole Gibbs, last year’s Miss Black USA Pageant winner, took to Instagram to post a compelling photo with the caption, “We are proud to represent our respective communities, states, We PAGEANT with a PURPOSE!” In the recent photo, Gibbs is pictured posing with this year’s contestants, holding up a ‘Black power fist’ during their recent visit to the White House.
Madison Gibbs is a native of Greensboro, NC. She is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State university with a Bachelor’s in Speech Communications, and is currently a 2nd year law student at Howard University School of Law.

The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation in Maryland that is committed to addressing the issues of health and education. Karen Arrington founded the organization in 1986 with the goal of providing scholarships and educational opportunities to outstanding young women of color and to develop the whole woman—mind, body and spirit.
