Inmates Start Fires as Disturbance Breaks Out at Goldsboro Prison

GOLDSBORO, N.C.– Reports went out Sunday evening that inmates started fires during a disturbance at a prison located in Goldsboro, N.C. The disturbance occurred at the Neuse Correctional Institution which is currently on lock down while the cause of the riot is under investigation.

According to the North Carolina Department of Public Service, a disturbance was started by a small group of inmates at about 4:30 p.m. and inmates set two separate fires that had since been extinguished.
