In a win last night over the Cleveland Indians, the Chicago Cubs win the World Series and brings an end to the 108 year old curse! The billy goat curse is dead. Defeating the Cleveland Indians in 10 innings 8-7 in Game 7 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
So, what was the curse? The Billy Goat Curse supposedly started in 1945 when Billy Goat Tavern owner William Sianis was asked to leave Wrigley field during game 4 of the 1945 World Series because the odor of his pet goat, Murphy.
Sianis allegedly declared, “Them Cubs, they ain’t gonna win no more!” Since then, the Cubs had not won a World Series or until last night’s World Series win over the Cleveland Indians.
