We’re just hours away from Super Bowl 51 and it has been 18 years since the Atlanta Falcons have played in the Super Bowl.   On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons will return to the Super Bowl to face the New England Patriots.

It was on Jan. 17, 1999, when the Vikings were defeated by the Falcons in overtime and the loss propelled the Falcons to their first visit in franchise history to the Super Bowl.   The Falcons known as the “Dirty Birds” finished off a remarkable season that year, but  they lost 34–19 to the defending champion Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXIII.

The Falcons capped off their season with the highest scoring offense, finishing the  2016 regular season with 540 points.  Some predict the Falcons will win the Super Bowl.

Why? Well, Atlanta will win the Super Bowl because they have an offense that’s as unpredictable as it is talented.
