Last night, during the 2017 Oscars, Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty announced the wrong winner for Best Picture.  Warren Beatty looked confused after opening the envelope, and after a few seconds, he passed the envelope to Faye Dunaway who announced that “La La Land” had won.  After the cast of “La La Land” took the stage and gave acceptance speeches, it was revealed that “Moonlight” had actually won Best Picture.

According to Variety, “A confused Beatty saw Emma Stone’s name and “La La Land,” and handed the envelope to Dunaway, who then announced the musical as the Best Picture winner.”
