The lovely Demetria Obilor “Traffic Bae” is a Traffic Ensemble Anchor for Channel 8 ABC Dallas who is receiving support and praise for the way she  gracefully responded to an angry viewer on social media.

Obilor was criticized about her body by Jan Shedd, a viewer of the Traffic Report who was so upset with the way Obilor looked in a dress that she said she would no longer watch the news.

“When you get older and you’re in the news people warn you that, ‘Hey, you’re going to be under a harsh lens. People are going to critique you, people are going to say mean things about you,’” she said.

NBC News reports:

Obilor, 26, has been a traffic reporter at the station for two weeks. She was previously a traffic reporter at KLAS-TV in Las Vegas. She said she wasn’t made aware of the post until Friday when someone posted a screenshot of the post on Twitter.

“I’m not a 16/18, but even if I was, for you to try to call out my size like that to hurt me or discriminate against me, I’m not for that,” she told NBC News.

Check out the video below.

Well, maybe Ms. Shedd will no longer be watching the news, but one look at Obilor and we can almost guarantee that Channel 8 will have plenty of returning viewers who don’t want to miss the daily traffic report.
