Oprah Winfrey’s Speech at 2018 Golden Globes ‘A new day is on the horizon’

Oprah Winfrey graced the stage on Sunday night and gave a  speech at the 2018 Golden Globes.  As Oprah accepted the Cecil B. Demillle Award, a Golden Globes’ lifetime achievement award, she sent a message to young girls watching:  “A new day is on the horizon.”

Oprah started her speech with a personal reflection and ended it with a call to arms of sorts. She shared the significance of becoming the first black woman in history to receive the award. The media mogul and actress covered topics on racism and the #MeToo movement which resulted in a standing ovation from the audience.
