Winnie Harlow Gives a Fan Advice on Growing Up With Vitiligo – Written by: Nikki Kouture

Chantelle Brown Young better known as Winnie Harlow or Chantelle Winnie is a 21 year old Canadian model who has vitiligo, a skin disease that causes pigment to disappear, resulting in white patches on her skin.

In a recent episode on The Real Talk show, Winnie surprised one of her fans, aspiring model April Star, who has the same rare skin condition.

After quitting school at 17, Winnie worked at a call center and pursued modeling. She was discovered on Instagram by “America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks and is probably best known for her appearance on Banks’ show where she placed sixth overall out of fourteen participants.  Throughout her childhood, Winnie Harlow was a victim of verbal abuse by other children and was reportedly called a cow, zebra and all manners of other disparaging slurs as a result of her skin condition.  Click here to read more.
